Amanda is a teaching dance artist, living in San Luis Obispo. She received her primary dance training from Georgia Academy of Dance and The Performing Arts, in Peachtree City, Georgia, and worked with several notable teachers including Sherri Davis (Artistic Director of Georgia Dance Theater) and the late Ramazon Bapov (Bolshoi Ballet). At the age of thirteen, she was accepted into the Georgia Dance Theater performance company and danced with them through her senior year of high school. She has attended several distinguished summer dance intensive programs, including the American Ballet Theatre, Nashville Ballet, Firespark! at Brenau University, Ballet Magnificat! and LA Contemporary Dance Company.
Amanda attended Belhaven University in Jackson, Mississippi, and received a full dance scholarship upon acceptance. She performed with the Belhaven Dance Ensemble throughout her college years, which lead to scholarship opportunities for her to perform for American College Dance Association’s National Festival at University of Illinois and Alabama Dance Festival at Birmingham-Southern College. In 2012, she was awarded her B.A. in Dance and B.S. in Psychology.
Amanda has been featured as a resident and guest teacher throughout California. She has performed with Paso Robles Chamber Ballet and CORE Dance Company. She has also earned recognition as a gifted choreographer. Her work has been awarded at several competitions including Dance League, JUMP Tour, LA Dance Magic and Dupree Dance. In 2015, her original work, “Just Go”, was selected for the Regional Dance America Pacific Festival in Sacramento. As a teaching dance artist, she strives to promote a positive and encouraging environment for her students, while offering instruction that assists them in achieving their goals in dance technique and artistry.
